Typographic Self-portrait

An illustration of me using Futura as the typeface to describe my features. Futura, a versatile and geometric typeface with variations of type weight is utilize throughout the self-portrait. The varying sizes of the type allows for details, textures, and negative space to appear and describe my skin and my shirt. Studying the grayscale image, the font was used to replicate a variety of contrasting shades that were present in the image. The techniques of layering and putting type on line defined my facial feature and hair texture.
